This worm lives in a vertical passage and can accomplish high densities in protected estuaries where conditions are regularly unsuitable for various species. It is easily perceived by a red dorsal blood vein, which continues running down the point of convergence of its body. It is a basic sustenance hotspot for a few kinds of estuarine swimming feathered animals.
